Translations - laughing and sense-making
OK. I'm going to experiment with using Google translations for my post. If nothing else they give you a good laugh. And they might also help to make sense of some of the posts in another language.

Well clicking "português" gives rubbish - another thing computers can't do yet....

Yes, it gives rubbish. I never cease to be amazed (and to win a good laugh) at how many of my students - graduate and post-graduate - who give me work they've written in Portuguese and translated to English through the automatic Google translator!
